AW: Table-Based Layout Is The Next Big Thing
I have seen and done a whole lot of relaunches and literally all of them required new HTML. Changing only the CSS would require the whole content to remain the same, but this normally not the case. The great advantage of CSS is that I just change one CSS and the design is changed in all files of my website without endless search and replace and without republishing them.
Some time ago I still thought using tables is much faster than CSS, but it is not. I found a way that is easier: Absolute positioning within a surrounding blocklevel element. This still allows me to create a centered design with only using "Layers" (absolutely positioned blocklevel elements). And then crerating a web site is very quick, accessible and valid. And the best news: Using layers you normally don't have to worry about browser compatibility.
Cheers, Boris

How many here have changed sites with CSS? I don't mean things like fontsizes, colors, but positioning and widths etc. Well, a new wirdth will require new graphics...
Doing a complete re-design, is it not more common to also change the code? Startfresh from scratch? CSS will also change... so a CSS site today may be outdated in 3 years... or?
