[Dreamweaver Talk] Conditional region without PHP/MySQL?
I may be wrong but thought there was a non-database way to include or omit content based on condition (i.e., if there's no content, omit, or "hide" more likely [e.g., display: none], the container, be it a CSS div or an HTML element like <tr>). Am I wrong? I was looking at the DW help section on "Multiple if condition in template code" but that didn't seem right for what I want.
Basically, I have an online newsletter (http://fish.washington.edu/fishline ) that includes info on supposedly weekly seminars, but some of the series skip weeks or are irregular otherwise. Each series has static info (series, title, location, time, etc.) and dynamic (speaker & title for next date) info.
I agree with readers who think that if there's no info available for the next seminar in a given series, I should omit all info on that series, static and dynamic.
This is further complicated by the use of a javascript-based menu system to which I'd have to add and remove menu links if I were to oblige my readers. So, between that and adding and deleting the main content, this gets to be more labor intensive than it should be. But I do not want to invest time into building a database solution, even though that would definitely facilitate conditional-based inclusion/ omission.
From what I can tell, however, there is no way to do what I want without using something like PHP/MySQL.
If you know otherwise, please let me know, and if there's online documentation, point me to it. Thanks.
