Cartweaver is very complete and handles most things that you need out of the box. The Admin backend is wonderful whereas eCart makes you build you own. I haven't used eCart since I purchased Cartweaver. They have working demos of their site. Keep in mind that everyone adds to them so a lot of things you see on the demo site don't make sense. Add you own products to see how it works or stay with the camping products that were added by the developers.
They just added a template that gives you a complete solution and add a few extra features. Highly recommended.
Nothing wrong with eCart if you have the time to get up to speed on it and like to roll your own.
