There are some conflicts between each of the popular script libraries and the IE page aborted error is a known issue caused by scripts (including Prototype and the other libraries) that are attempting to change the properties of a DOM object before that object is available - or if it is not available at all. The key to preventing it is to ensure your library scripts are completely up-to-date and to run a good debugger in IE to attempt to trace the exact cause. Of course, there is a solution similar to Lightbox, but far more powerful, automated, and stable, and available to Dreamweaver users - but it is not free :-(
Have you tried contacting the authors of your script libraries?
