EXACTLY why I told ya'll that Kati is acceptable <g>. Of course, *I* have no problem typing it. But I do have trouble typing Katherine or Catherine - I have to *think* about it, whereas Kathryn is automatic. There is one guy on the AccessD list (databaseadvisors.com) who calls me Kati all the time. (In our board meetings on mIRC, I had to add Kati to the macro that makes a sound when my name is mentioned).
And "Topher", I have a nephew Christopher who managed to make it to his 20's without being called Chris. It was odd that he was able to get through elementary school without it getting shortened as kids are usually the first to do it. When he got into work situations is when he decided to go by Chris.
