RE: Recordset Problem and my ? on setting preferences
Hi all (I'm new to the list)
Access - now there can be a source of headaches. Are you using the Access wizards to create the connection and the Sort code? (guessing here). Do agree on the quotes or no spaces, but, if this doesn't fix the problem, please post the query code. (Something's nagging at my memory of Access...)
By the way, I too deal in the Windows PC (non-Apple) world. Hope folks aren't defecting; It's very depressing to see this thread as I read my first digest for the list.
Now my question: I'm creating a site (a redesign, but from scratch, except for the textual 'content'.) I could use the 'web' feature of Dreamweaver (where a site cache is created), so that intra-page link updating will be a snap in the future, etc. However I anticipate that, once the site goes live, different people may download and update a page from the section of the site each has ownership of. (This isn't a controlled corporate-type environment; I can't even anticipate what software they will use to do the updating.)
So wondering what problems my development approach (i.e., how I set the preferences, etc.) may cause them, and me later. For instance, as I create this, links would be relatively defined, not totally defined. Also, once someone uploads a page back, then it won't be in the cache of the site 'map' anymore (and the benefits stop.) So wondering what the appropriate method for me to develop might be, to maximize the benefits, while minimizing the impending drawbacks to content maintainers?
Thanks Nancy Gacki nhgacki@concentric.net (new to listserve)
Hi All. I have a recordset problem. I am doing a database for a Golf Club. I have Members Name & Score. When I leave the recordset at its default, there's no problem, but when I try to SORT the recordset by the members Score, I get this error message:
"[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression on `Members Score;`
