I have a new client (maybe) who wants a website that would have (hopefully), a log in feature. As I have built only mostly static (I guess that's what you call them) websites I think that I am going to have to learn a lot more to be able to do this, like asp, javascript, coldfusion? I would like to do this, and have read about all three, but am very confused still about which to use and how (book, cdrom, online course, where?) to learn. I am using FATCOW.com for hosting and they have a way of having me build a website for a client that gives THEIR CLIENTS the ability to log on, and access a folder of files that they only have access to (with their password). Maybe this is the way I should do it, (then maybe I don't have to learn coldfusion) I this sounds like I don't know what I am talking about, it's because I don't.
Question: If I want to build a website that has log-in capability, what do I have to learn and what is a good source for learning and hosting company to use?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
