It took me a few minutes after I pressed send on my last message to figure out how to change the line breaks but then it hit me that you were referring to the text encoding. I'm happy to say the culprit turned out the be that very thing. I switched it to "Unicode 16" and Tomcat now starts without a hitch! :-)
