The inheritance thing... <style type="text/css"> body { font-size:1em} /*this will set the base font-size for the document the same as the default setting of their browser */ h1 { font-size:200%} /* the h1 will be twice as big as the default (base) font-size*/ </style>
Or <style type="text/css"> body { font-size:12px} /*this will set the base font-size for the document to 12px */ h1 { font-size:300%} /* the h1 will be twice as big as the default (base) font-size, in this case 36 px*/ </style>
Note that browsers have a default stylesheet, where the size of elements as h1 are specified in relative units, so if you specify nothing for the (ie) h1, the browser will use its default scaling factor to size the h1, likely something like 1.8.
