>>That's why we favor sites that use liquid designs. Keeping that in mind, I have converted my site to be a fluid design though with minimum 700 pixel, do you still prefer a little less than that.
>>Another point to add is that different versions of browsers vary in >>the amount of 'chrome' (borders) in a browser window. OS X windows >>have no chrome on the right or left edge, but OS 9 windows do have a >>border. Can somebody tell me where can I find some good information on all the pros and cons of both MAC/PC in reference to websites, developmental scriptlets etcetera.
>>I'd look at making your table width no more than 950px wide; >>900 might be safer. I am trying to call up the developers and squeezed to something like what you are suggesting without troubling the major audience which are on PC, it is again an intranet application.
Judi Sohn >>I can make disappear simply by removing the Explorer Bar.' If that is the case, then the problem will be solved easily because we do not care about anybody opening that bar or not at this moment.
>>If a screen shot would help, >>please let me know and I'll send one along. Please do that as the client must be sleeping (night at the states now) and he have not send me the screen shot as yet.
Ray Broussard >>On my Mac, in IE5, with display set at 1024 x 768, window maximized, I >>had to horizontally scroll about 50 pixels to see it all. >>I am not using an explorer bar. Thanks to you, those were nice feedbacks, I can troubleshoot much better with all these informations. Do you still use Netscape 4.x, if so, will you please have a look in that too.
OFF-TOPIC
>>to horizontally scroll about 50 pixels to see it all. Thank you that is the information I was hunting through the hays of post on this PC/MAC quarral, was like looking for the needle in the haystick.
Patrick >>Darn. Now I have to return my expert-Mac-user certificate. Expert Mac User Certificate? What would happen if there is a "Expert PC User Certificate", They will have to print the certificate at various branches across the world on some heavy fast output printing press.

>>Of course, making a window full-screen on Windows does not give IT a >>Mac appearance. So, the Mac's desktop is somewhat like my bed/computer room.
Maxx >>I don't understand why Windows users don't unmaximize all their windows >>so they can easily find what they're looking for based on its spatial location on >>the desktop. If you use your computer and say where to find easily then you are not using your computer so optimally, I keep nothing on the desktop, it is so clean except for "My computer", "Network", "Recycle" and "MyDocument" but I have most of the utilities, softwares installed than any other machine in our office and I can go and roam around without trying to remember which program was on which level of the menu hierarchy. I does that un-clean un-maximize in my room but not on my PC.
Tom >>Warm here too It is raining like hell here.
>>From the screen I'm looking at now, I can see parts >>of windows in several apps and I like it this way . . . >>This is one of the reasons you get all the groans >>from Mac users when forcing them to full screen. Seems, you will be a little more happier if MAC OS comes up with an option to have your Apps transparencey adjustable, so that you can see through them easily.
;-) [another smiley here]
Steve >>It's funny I don't see many Mac users even >>use contextual menus They wanted to but afraid that will ruin their ego and computational image.
>>It toggles between whatever two window sizes you want, You mean like the swish knife, jack of all things to do !
>>unlike the Windows Maximize button, >>which has so much less flexibility. what else do you want it to do, pronounce your name evertime you faces and smiles at your computer?
Law >>It's interesting how long a thread on "DPI on Mac" I should have removed the "Mac" part when I started the thread. >>"accessibility- usability issues when using layers" I could not remember if I had ever used layers in my layouts.
