Thanks Patrick, I fixed that problem, however, I'm still seeing this problem which is compounded in Safari: http://www.imcnewcastle.com/times.php
In Safari, the bounding box seems to think that the browser window is larger than it is, and when the text is larger than the window, it duplicates the scroll bar for the box whereas in IE WinXP the only scroll bar which appears is on the browser window. His may be a bug or it may be a problem with my code:
> div#maintext { > border: thin solid #336699; > margin: 5px 15em 15em 5px; > padding: 5px; > height: 90%; > width: 80%; //tried setting this to auto, but it gets weird > left: 175px; > top: 20px; > color: #666666; > overflow: auto; //puts duplicated scroll bars in Safari > position: absolute; > visibility: visible; > z-index: auto; > background-color: #FFFFFF; > right: auto; //setting this to em or px width doesn't seem to help. > bottom: 30px; > }
