Re: New Site...answers for Robert Thayer
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your kind words.
1. The !!! exclamation points !!! are a visual reinforcement of my logo daviddidit! which uses the exclamation point.
2. Yes I deliberately hid parts of the daviddidit! logo behind the page graphics. The idea was to use the logo, the green bar and the line with the ball on the end as a visual anchor while navigating pages, The headlines and graphics change but the anchor stays in place giving some sense of continuity through the site.
3. Thanks to so many generous people in this list, I am solving many of the technical issues. As I said in my first post, I'm new to coding and building websites, so this is my trial by fire. Some of course are beyond my webskills right now, but I'll keep improving it over the next little while. Most of the designer sites I've visited have been graphics heavy. I thought I might reduce the baggage a little by just showing medium sized versions of the thumbs. Eventually, I'll offer the option to view larger images.
4. The site of course is not meant for the general public, but an audience of graphic studios, ad agencies service bureaus and the like. Eventually, I'll direct clients there to view work in progress. So the humor has escaped a few list viewers who aren't involved in the day to day travails of graphic designers. But then I miss some of the funny stuff you coders and scripters have to say on the list.
All in all this has been a fun experience. I appreciate everybody's input.
regards, david!
