It might help some, if they use Netscape 7.x, AFAIK it and Claris Emailer (Mac client) are the only third party *mail* apps that can access AOL's proprietary e-mail service, which is really just a bastardized from of IMAP.
I noticed instructions in a quick Google search (some time ago) on how to setup Netscape for AOL, however it's just as easy to use Yahoo or Netscape Web Mail for e-mail then doing all this work for an AOL mail account. One can still connect through the AOL internet service with Yahoo, MSN or Netscape Web Mail. With Yahoo one can use a regular e-mail client, MSN one must use Outlook or Outlook Express, with Netscape Webmail, Netscape v 7.x can be an used in place of the web interface. All the above is NOT as complicated as it sounds. :)
As always YMMV.
