I love BBEdit, mostly b/c it lets me work faster at any of my text-based work than I could with just a GUI or CLI (command line interface) front end.
Especially when it comes to cleaning up an old site, and figuring out some of the patterns other folks sorta semi had in their code and needing to replace things. I mean I LOVE regular expressions on the unix backside, but there's also times when having to script out parsing through every file and looking for a pattern takes a while, or I make a mistake because I'm typing it in from the middle of a vi session and forget to save it out etc.
BBEdit, for me, let's me move faster and more easily between different find and replace heuristics (grep vs standard find/replace every desktop user is used to) as well as speeding putting the paterns into a search.
And sometimes just being able to look at all the code that is syntactically highlighted in a true text-editor that's FAST and efficient is just much easier than scrolling through DW. Again, it's just a tool tailored for such work and lets you think in different ways for attacking a problem rather than just scrolling through code.
At least that's my view ;)
