Hi there You don't post with a name and as I am fairly new to the list, don't know it - sorry :)
Yes, I most certainly live in Wollongong - "the city between the mountains and the sea" a very apt description of our area - and I can say it is a very beautiful city.
If you visited 10 years ago, and thought it beautiful then, you should revisit. The city has undergone a massive transformation in recent years. We have gone from being known as the "Steel City" because of the BHP Steelworks. The works are still there - a little more camouflaged - don't employ the majority of the workforce like it used to ;( but we have now progressed to being a City that is famous for its tourist attractions.
We have many new conference facilities, massive new developments along the water fronts. (which do not detract from the beauty of Wollongong harbour and the environs by the way). Tourism now adds a major boost to our economy.
So does your sister live in Wollongong? Sounds like she may do - or did I read it wrong.
Glad you enjoyed your previous visit, maybe you can return some time soon. My husband's dream is to one day visit Canada - which I believe is just as beautiful - but in a totally different way? (I presume you are from Canada -because of the from: line).
