Well Steph, I did say it was quite a few years ago. What I didn't mention was the fact that there were three cars and 9 kids going down there so I failed to mention the A.R.B. (Average Restroom Breaks for your "Revenge of the Nerds" fanatics).
I do remember stopping off at Nags Head for the night on the way there and on the way back. And, if you ever have driven from the north-east coast to the south-east coast, what would such a trip be without stopping at "South of the Border"?
And, added to that, I mostly spent time either drawing in my sketchbook, reading a couple of sci-fi books or listening to Prince's "Purple Rain" soundtrack over and over again (yes, it was THAT long ago!).
Now, had Brajeshwar asked me how long it would take going the OTHER direction (from Virginia to Cape Cod), I could have easily told him 12-14 hours as well (with A.R.B. measuring for a wife, a 7 year old daughter and a 2 year old son). I did that trip last Labor day weekend to play in a baseball tournament up there! :-)
Oh, and we started from the Washington DC area - both to Florida and to Cape Cod. :-)
