Don't know if you're opposed to a CSS solution? If not, here's a great page

Look at Example IIf.

margin-right: auto;
text-align: left;
}
Ex.

</tr>
</table>
</div>
Not sure if this will work for you or not, but it does give you the ability
to control the appearance of your "main" table quite a bit (adding various
borders, text appearance, etc.) You'd just need to add more style attributes
to the "centertable" style. Hope this helps.
