Actually, I'm finding much to my chagrin, that the majority of mid to larger companies are working in the .Net framework, and it's a necessary skill to know C# these days. The lucrative jobs are going to demand a knowledge of it. I'm not so sure that IIS is going to wither away, now that MSFT Server 2003 is here. The OSS equivalent of the .NET framework, is taking too long to get out of the gate. Even as a staunch OSS fellow, I have to admit, that from a developing perspective .NET is, well, sweet. There are a hell of a lot of opportunities out there with it.
