Hi Louise, This is pathetically late in replying. I'm really behind on my reading (over 1,000) but I have, guiltily, written for help before reading all the emails.
Anyway, back to lvsonline.com. I first started taking courses there because: 1) I don't have a lot of money to spend on learning 2) I don't have open time to drive to a class
I've been taking classes at lvs for over 2 years and have learned everything I know about web design from them.
You sign up for a class and each week download the pdf lesson or go to the html page. You can do the lesson on your own time within that week. If you have any questions you post them on the class room board. When your done with your lesson you post that to the class room board and the teacher evaluates it.
The only course that I had trouble with this environment was the php beginner course. I don't blame the instructor though. I think it's a mixture of my brain not getting it and the need for more hours and a real life class room situation.
