Re: tutorials/html was disapprearing layouts
Hi Jord-
Please excuse the delay in responding... offline life got a little hectic and now my laptop is going into the laptop garage for a screen replacement sooo.... I'll be walking for about 10 days as they say and dealing with withdrawal. I'll be grabbing computers where i can to ck email at least.
Anyhow the tutorial i was using was in "'Dreamweaver MX 2004 The Missing Manual" by McFarland. I have been using the DW HTML reference when I get into a jam. I'm one of those people who learn by doing and stumbling a lot. Then I go to the ref manuals when I get stuck. Might be a little a--backwards but it works for me. ;> My HTML knowledge is very basic. However i do find myself reading the 'view source' in the browser for any web site i like to understand how a particular area was developed. ;>
Also just to pass on i recently purchased iWork with Pages and Keynote for the mac. In Keynote it allows you to create slide shows and save them in flash. I'm going to experiment in pulling those flash slide shows into dreamweaver and see how it 'controls' the pics.
One problem my photographer daughter had on the website is people stealing her photos and claiming them on their web sites. As I mentioned, I am new to this web site development and didn't know about meta data available in Photoshop. We are now doing that on ALL photos. For a little while we added layers with copyright info but that really messes up the photos even when at 10%. I am hoping that the slide show transformed into flash files will help to keep the photos secure. Lawyers are not yet in the budget. ;>
