Sorry for taking up list bandwidth for this [OT] problem with WordPress but I have not been able to get much of an answer from the WP support forum. Hopefully someone here is familiar with WP and can provide guidance. The site in question is located at http:// www.skagitbeattheheat.org/
WP 2.3.1 has support for static pages as well as blog entries. I set up a static page for Committees, which you can see is clickable by a tab on the top. If you click on that tab, the Committees page comes up with a list of links to the pages dedicated to the individual committees. This is a hack because I was not able to figure out how to get WP to display them correctly.
Now, on the administration pages, I have designated those individual committee pages as children of the Committee page. Although I can get to those pages via my hacked Committee page, I cannot get them to display through WP itself. What I am expecting to happen, if I configure it correctly, is that when I click on the Committee tab, I would then see more tabs, for the individual committees, and clicking on those would bring up the pages for which I supplied links. Is this the way WP pages and subpages are supposed to work?
One of the answers I got on the WP support forum was to convert to pretty links and to set up an .htaccess file, both of which I did. I am not sure what this bought me, but it certainly did not solve the problem that I am trying to solve, namely, how do I provide navigation to those subpages?
TIA for any assistance!
Warren
